I'm Daniel from Disqus. We make blog comments awesome. I've noticed that Disqus comments has become quite popular with us Tumblers as of late and I just wanted to officially drop in and say hi.
Of course, I tumble myself. Quite excessively. You can check me out at obscurelyfamous.com and see how Disqus integrates with Tumblr.

hey dan-
yeah, disqus is pretty friggin' cool. i think it goes well with the minimalist approach of tumblr quite well. it seems like a lot of other commenting systems are really overblown and just clutter up the joint.
I've been using Disqus for my tumblelog since last week and, I have to say, it's by far the best solution. It fits seamlessly into Tumblr and works perfectly.
While I won't be implementing comments on my tumblr, I have considered Disqus for other sites I manage through work. It's a great tool and I look forward to playing around with it more (personally and professionally).
You're correct about that. I would recommend turning comment moderation off for now, especially if you're only concerned about comment spam. We handle spam quite well already.

im trying to implement diqus, and it looks exceedingly straightforward. however, on the integrate page, where you copy the code, the example frame of 'custom code' where it says "..!-- paste disqus here..." i run into problems. i looked for the exact language in the example and it isnt there. there is neither an 'end posts' nor a 'prevnext' character in the code of my page. (yes, this is the http://disqus.com/integration-start/mfg/tumblr/ page.)
i tried to put this in at the part that says:
{/block:Posts}
"<"div id="footer"">" but when i try there it fails also. my page with tumblr is mfg.tumblr.com and i dont know where in my custom code to add the script. (i can email a txt file of the script from disqus and the text from my custom html)
if anyone can help me get disqus running it would be greatly appreciated!
I took a look at mfg.tumblr.com and you've already implemented it correctly. The image is only an example. Different themes will have different HTML structure.
The only thing you are now missing is the optional comment count link. This is step #3 on the integration page.

you know, i may be having 1 or 2 problems with seeing it. first might be IE6, my profile wasnt showing up correctly when i was using litewire for some reason (the formatting was all off. the second might be my work firewall. thanks for the look.
