With the new functionality just introduced, I have finally been able to create timestamps for each post but I want to have my tags display as well. It's great that I can use Tags as Classes, but I just want to use tags as tags. Does anyone know how to do this?
It's a shame you can't make the tags links to something useful (like technorati.com.tag/[my_tag]). Also, you tend to get a lot of useless metadata showing up in your feed generated tags (like del_icio_us or digg_com).
Any thoughts on this? I have a notion for a bit of a CSS hack, but I'm still trying to get it straight in my head!
Thanks, Marc... only got the essence of what I read, I'm afraid... Patience, eventually I'll find out how to get my Tumblr tags to behave as ordinary tags (so that they appear at the bottom of each post, or in a tag cloud in the sidebar, or can be used to search for posts in my tumblelog, you know).

I think you're right. My impression, which I think we share, is that official tagging is on its way. It just isn't totally here yet. We need to be patient (I say to myself).
When Tumblr implements it for everyone, it should be easier to use. Currently, there is only a partial implementation. {TagsAsClasses} doesn't do everything we want -- like tag clouds, topic pages by tag, etc.
I know that the current system is a bit of a tease but I expect that, before too long, David and Marco will get around to giving us a more in-depth tagging system.
My impression was that TagsAsClasses is mainly for adding the tag list as values for the posts' main element's class attribute, so you can style them with CSS by topic. I'm kind of disappointed that the real tag support isn't implemented yet...
I'm just waiting for the day when I can add tags with the "Share on Tumblr" bookmark. That, plus Markdown has made me incredibly lazy when it comes to posting stuff. Taking the extra few seconds to go to the dashboard seems like a lifetime in comparison.
