readmore hack for text posts

hey guys
i hav just started using tumblr n i love it but i thnk it does hav a problem with text posts as can be quite big sometimes making ur blog hard to look for someone whos not intrested in the text post . i found a way around by
using
{block:PermalinkPage} {/block:PermalinkPage}
{block:IndexPage} {/block:IndexPage}
which just leaves a link which solves one problem but does give a new problem we cant see the contents of text post until we go to the permalink page
the hack for this is readmore which could be added to blogger classic
i hope if someone could help me it would be great

There's a theme called Museum by Paul Giacherio that has a "read more" feature. I'm sure if you checked out the theme's coding you'd be able to get something similar working on your tumblr. Hope this helps...
