Officially, I have a blog over at Wordpress, but the time I post something there is far and between.
My Tumblr plus Twitter fulfill my actual needs, especially after they did some updates and posting through mail and mobile is a breeze.
At first I was a bit thoughtful about the lack of comments, but it's a scrap book, I like it like that.
(And yes, I know about discussion hacks. Just didn't bother with them. :) )
I'm into a lot of different stuff. I set this up for several different reasons. 1. It's quick and easy. 2. It's related to my own personal research project 3. I got frustrated trying to blog elsewhere.
I started out with Wordpress and then Blogger and pretty much gave up on both of them. Blogger just annoys me. Wordpress is great for all the options and customizing that is available, but I still feel that it is too techy and over my head.
"Tumblr is not my main blog, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it's a compliment to my other blog. They both have completely different audiences."
My updates are less frequent on my other blog. - I am one of those Tumblrs who jumped in delight when I came to Tumblr in Aug.07 and found that comments were not an option. -On my other blog I do have comments as well as readers who email me etc.. pretty standard setup.
As far as the question of would I put my next, or future blog projects into the hands of Tumblr? Yes.
I just finished the painstaking process of importing over 250 posts from my main WordPress blog. So yes, Tumblr is my main blog now. I've hacked in Feedburner links and stats, a Google Search, Disqus comments, etc. I email pics to Flickr and my Tumblr sucks them in. I have the Tumblr desktop widget for Mac. I'm good to go!
