IRC channel for Tumblr users

Bill Israel and I decided to start up an irc channel for Tumblr users. We thought this would provide a good way for users to have a more immediate and direct experience with one another as well as find new tumblelogs to follow. The server information is below if you would like to check it out.

Note: We are not aware of another irc channel for Tumblr users, but if there is one that you're aware of then definitely let us know.

I think this is a great idea, but I'm wondering if we can get the same effect in another way instead of having another App open...that and IRC is so...um... web .0000001...b..... Is there any way to add a "who's online" to Ning? Some kinds of web 2.0 chat room here?

I've only spent a little while in the chat room but it's definitely cool to have. It's nice to have a casual place to chat about tumblr and get some feedback in a more immediate way.
