Making a Post "Sticky" in Tumblr

Hi all... I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can make a single post stay as number one on my tumblr page as I add new content?

My tumblr page is an art portfolio and I would like my "welcome" post to stay first as I add new content without having to continually change the dating of posts and thus to stay true to the medium of blogging.

any help would be appreciated

Hi, David, i would suggest putting content in your Description or linking to one or more posts from your Description. To edit the Description, click the Customize link on the Dashboard and then click the Info tab.

You could just add the picture as a header. That's what I've done on mine, and it works great.

Just upload the picture to something like photobucket or tinypic, and then add the url

<*h1>HERE <*/h1> THe picture will stay at the top of the page.

(remove the *'s. I just had to put them or else the tag doesn't show).

I found another solution, because I was having the same problem. You can set the date of the entry ahead, like say instead of 27. April 2009 put 27th April 2012. Then the entry will be ontop until that date. It worked great for me here: http://yeahmurakami.tumblr.com/

interesting. I had tried this earlier but tumblr would change the date to the present. perhaps that little "feature" has been disabled?

what about some changes in the theme?

you could use the {block:IndexPage} and {/block:IndexPage} tags to rended a piece of HTML just in the index page.

(I have not tested it tho)
